Carol Burch and her dog Sadie, travelling from New York recently stopped by the shop at Leatherworks on the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. Thanks for the photographs sent in, looks like Carol and Sadie have still got some travelling to do.

2007 Electric Fat Boy This photo was taken late at night, inside a campground shelter, during an electrical storm, at Beaverdam Lake, near Nordegg, AB. We hit a rain/snow storm and had to duck into the shelter. Minutes later, all h*** broke loose!

I snapped this picture using a standard auto-focus 35mm camera and 400 speed film. The bolts of electricity were unseen to the naked eye.

I have yet to find a formal scientific explanation for the phenomenon – but I assure you it is completely un-retouched. I have the negatives to prove it! The shutter speed of my mechanical camera and the sensitive film managed to catch what the naked eye could not.

I believe it was due to a rapid discharge of built-up atmospheric electricity, which occurred too quickly to be seen with the naked eye. Photo sent in by Karen Lange.

Owner of the electrifying bike is Calvin McCracken
