Barebone Choppers

January 1 2008

ONTARIO, CANADA

Custom chopper from Barebones Orillia The name may be Barebone Choppers, but make no mistake; there is plenty of meat on the company frame work. Though only in its third year of business, Barebone Choppers of Orillia, Ontario may be new, but they’re certainly not new to the industry. The combined efforts of Craig (Craiger) Sophie and Chris (Rock) Cobb bring over 35 years of experience to the plate.

From their 7,500 sq. ft. facility, Barebone Choppers has everything you’ve come to expect from a V-Twin repair shop and some little extras you may not expect. Factory trained and licensed Harley techs Craig Sophie, Michael Jacobs, Mark Gross and third year apprentice Scott Smith show professional and ultimate expertise in their four bay, service and repair department. While the Barebone crew is busy servicing your custom chopper or brand new bagger, you can drop by the Burn Out Café for great food, good friends and an awesome atmosphere.

Barebone Choppers can tackle any upgrades to your ride, be it one-off modifications, personalized paint, chroming and black chrome, polishing, powder coating or a complete overhaul. Barebone’s custom builds are second to none and they stand behind everything they build. Their in-house machine shop and fabrication room has everything needed to build your dream machine with one-of-a-kind parts made with pride and quality craftsmanship. Craiger, being a motor head all his life, takes engine building very seriously and his engine room is one of his favourite places to hang out. The technicians stay up-to-date with the latest in performance products and E.F.I. engine management systems and can Dyno-Tune and test what they build.

Their warm and inviting showroom stocks a wide variety of motor gear and accessories as well as their own custom clothing line. Behind the parts counter they stock a large variety of motorcycle accessories and hard parts to keep your ride serviced and safely on the road. If they don’t have the parts or accessories you want in stock, Barebones can obtain whatever you need from their vast number of suppliers.

Down in the used bike department, you will find only top quality rides gone over from front to back. Whether you are looking for a starter bike, chopper or anything in between, Don Stuart, a highly informed motorcycle enthusiast and dealer, will set you up. Trades are welcome and Don can arrange financing if needed.

The ‘Stealth Fighter’ you see on these pages is Craiger’s personal ride. Starting with the ‘always in demand’ FXRT, the bike was totally stripped and rebuilt from the ground up. Other than a few base parts, there is very little that hasn’t been retouched, modified or made specifically for this custom bagger.
