It’s a Good Day For a BAD Ride Once Again

March 1 2008

Distress Centres is proud to announce that B.A.D. Ride XI (Bikers Against Despair) will be held on May 25, 2008. Thanks to the generous support of its sponsors and the encouragement of riders, this exciting revamped charitable ride will continue its award-winning tradition. There’s gas back in the tanks! The last Sunday in May is once again a B.A.D. day.

The B.A.D. Ride has been the lifeline for Distress Centres, the oldest crisis line in Canada. As the agency’s most important community outreach event, the Ride has provided much needed funds to support important services…there’s a life on the line! 100% of monies raised by participating riders goes directly towards programming.

B.A.D. Ride XI will continue to include all of the signature elements that past riders have enjoyed: a signed, unescorted scenic route; great food; original B.A.D. Ride giveaways; exciting new bike as the Grand Prize; and a great opportunity to spend time with our celebrity guests, John Derringer, Susan Hay and Darcy Tucker, and other motorcycling enthusiasts at our two venues.

There are also exciting new changes that promise to make this year’s Ride the best ever. For the first time, the end-of-ride biker party will be held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope. Nothing can compare to a catered lunch amongst the war birds, and with a new entertainment package to boot! Riders will also be cruising through the beautiful Halton Hills and up the Escarpment. All new roads.

The re-birth of the B.A.D. Ride is a testament to the commitment of the motorcycling community to making a difference. Riders and sponsors will enjoy an amazing event on Sunday, May 25th, 2008. The impact of that day, though, will continue to affect the lives of individuals at risk for many days that follow. Distress Centres salutes all of its supporters.
