2013 Ducati Multistrada gets minor tweaks

September 18 2012

Ducati has just released some information on its Multistrada adventure tourer, adding a long-distance-ready Granturismo model.

Several existing technologies return to the Multistrada 1200S for 2013, including ride-by-wire throttle control, eight-level traction control and ABS. It also gets a second-generation Testastretta 11° engine.

The 1200S Touring now features Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), which is a form of semi-active suspension. It will likely feature adaptable damping based on info fed to its control module by sensors on the bike. There’s also a new three-level ABS system.

The all-new 1200S Granturismo has increased saddlebag capacity (over the Touring model), a top case, better wind protection, engine guards and touring tires. The brightly coloured 1200S Pike’s Peak model returns, commemorating Ducati’s success at the famed hillclimb race.

Pricing and Canadian availability have not yet been released.
