Corduroy dual sport and trail ride coming up

September 12 2012

The annual Corduroy Trail Ride and Dual Sport/Spectator Tour will be taking place on the weekend of September 21-23.

Get your dual sport bike ready for a hardcore trail ride and dual sport tour of Ontario’s scenic Haliburton County, hosted by Rally Connex Adventure Tours. The tour takes place in conjunction with the Corduro Enduro competition.

Festivities will begin on Friday evening at the Gooderham Fairgrounds, in Gooderham, Ontario (at the junction of Highways 507 and 503), with rider clinics hosted by Matt Spigelmyer, Allan Lachapelle and KTM Canada’s Patrick Beaulé.

A 170-km ride including back roads and trails is scheduled for Saturday, with road bypasses available for those who want to skip the really rough stuff. There are several activities scheduled on Saturday evening.

On Sunday there is a 180-km Dual Sport and Spectator Tour that will follow the enduro and will take rider to special test viewing areas.

Registration is open, and if you sign up before September 17th you’ll pay a reduced entry fee and receive a Corduroy Enduro T-shirt. Free camping is available at the Fairgrounds.

The minimum age requirement for participants is 16 years old and riders must possess a driver’s licence. Motorcycles must be street legal and must be equipped with knobby tires — this won’t a ride through the park.
