Ride for Sight raises more than $700,000

September 21 2012

This year, Ride for Sight has raised more than $700,000 towards research for blindness caused by retinal degeneration.

RIde for Sight is a charity that has been raising money through donations since 1979. Last June a total of six events took place in Alberta, northern and central Ontario, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and the Northwest Territories, where riders raise more than $700,000.

Money raised goes to The Foundation Fighting Blindness, which funds research for retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration and related retinal diseases.

To show their appreciation, Ride for Sight is giving away a Stanley tool kit valued at more than $200. All you have to do is go to the RIde for Sight Facebook page and click “Like” before September 28th to be entered in the draw. The winner will be announced on October 1.
