Ducati introduces new middleweight Monster

June 9 2014

Ducati has announced that the Monster 821 will be coming to Canada.

Monsters have been in Ducati’s line up for more than two decades and almost 300,000 have been sold. The newest addition to the family is the Monster 821.

It uses the same liquid-cooled 821 cc Testastretta 11° V-twin as the Hypermotard, which was introduced last year. Standard electronic features include eight-level traction control, three levels of ABS and three rider-selectable ride modes.

Claimed dry weight is 179.5 kg and claimed output is 112 horsepower, which should be an indication that Ducati didn’t skimp on performance.

The Monster 821 will be arriving at dealers in August. Pricing starts at $11,990 for the Dark version, and $12,490 for red or white.
