The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC) has elected Kellee Irwin as their next Chairperson. Irwin, who is a Vice President for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, will serve a two-year term that terminates in 2013. The Progressive International Motorcycle Show being held this weekend (9 – 11 Dec. 2011) at the Long Beach Convention Centre in California will be a busy event for Victory Motorcycles. Along with the unveiling of a Klock Werks Kustom that was based on one of their motorcycles, the American manufacturer will also introduce an entirely new model.

The latest model to bust loose from Kawasaki’s production line is the 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX‐14R, the next generation version of its flagship hyper-everything motorcycle. The new über-motorcycle joins Suzuki’s Hayabusa in an ultra-exclusive class of obscenely powered gentlemen rockets that elevate Gran Turismo riding to an incomprehensible level of acceleration and speed. Yet, despite its purely performance driven design, it’s still odd that the ZX‐14R carries Ninja badging; it might be deadly fast, but the ZX‐14R is about as stealthy looking as an oil freighter moored at a cottage country marina. Yamaha Motor Company announced yesterday that it has decided to transfer all financial shares of Yamaha Motor Canada to its United States based subsidiary. The decision will give Yamaha Motor U.S.A. full financial responsibility for all of North America, and means that it will be providing financial reports for all of Yamaha’s North American operations, a similar set-up to those of Yamaha Europe, Yamaha South America and Yamaha Asia.
