There's one thing that all Mojo readers have in common: a love of motorcycles. However, most of us identify more with a specific genre of the sport, which got me wondering what the breakdown would be for those in the forum. Personally, I started off as a sport bike type of guy and kept that as my main focus for many years. Now I'm across the board and honestly can say that I like riding whatever I have the keys for; I'm just as happy logging miles on a big dualie as I am prowling the streets on a cruiser. I still love sport bikes, but only at the track. They've become - for me - the most unpractical motorcycle for public roads.

What's your preferred genre?

I voted sport touring :) I have an '85 1100 Shadow and an '03 Goldwing and we love the long rides and trips. Adventure would be fun too! just can't seem to fit it all in you know lol

For me, naked-style motorcycles would have to be my first pick. That being said - I've only had the opportunity to try a few different motorcycles so my current flavour is more like the falvour of the day. I was first introduced to the sport via dirt biking so an upright riding position, straight/wide handlebars and on-demand torque is the configuration I am the most comfortable with. I've found that with bikes like Triumph Street Triple (or more realistically; my GS 500) are happy being loaded with a tank bag and head up the highway for a couple hour ride, but is also just as comfortable scooting around downtown Barrie for a nice evening ride.

I would have to say older Italian bikes are a passion. Japanese bikes that are now collectible, cafe racers, are fun too.

I'm a cruiser girl, as long as it's set up for the long haul. Comfy with lots of storage room is what I need. My current scoot is an '03 VTX 1300S, which is slowly morphing into a bagged. Her fairing is being painted this week!

I used to have a lot of vintage motorcycles but decided to get out of it.
Got rid of them all. The last one I sold was a 1928 Sarolea.
Have been riding since the 1960's, and still riding today. (I am 66).
Recently bought a new Honda CBF 1000 with ABS.

It's great motorcycle riding in that area of British Columbia. We traveled through there several times.
When you get off the ferry take the Duffy Lake road! Go through Kamloops and from there turn south.
The Nelson area is also great.

I chose the sport touring option mainly because my current ride is a Honda ST1100. However, I have also owned vintage, a '69 BSA A65, an early 70's Kawasaki enduro, which I used in the dirt, and several naked and sport bikes over the years. Touring, trikes, and cruisers are the only areas I have yet to explore. Just give me two wheels and a day to ride and I am a happy guy!

I like everything (currently have a sport-touring bike while the missus has a street oriented dual-purpose) with the only exception being cruisers. I just don't get that genre...

I also don't get that whole cruiser thing, I'm 6'6" and I just do not find them comfortable...

I currently have a DL650 but still say I'm a cruiser guy at heart. Hopefully by next summer there will be a cruiser parked in the garage next to my Wee Strom

From what Ive heard many islanders are going to Nakusp. ide rather go to Nakusp to celebrate Italian bikes myself. I just cant get excited about paying money to hear some brag about where they have been. Its a great gig though for the organizers.

At this point, I would have to say sport-touring. I am new to riding, started in the Spring of 2009. My current ride is a Ninja 650r, which I have fitting with Givi side and top cases. Kawi has over 24000 km in 2 short summers. I just love to travel, it's not just the ride, it's the journey for me. However, over the years my vote may change, as I ( hopefully) get the opportunity to try different bikes.

All I rode for years it was racing bikes and dirt bikes for me. I started riding a Gold Wing about ten years ago and realized what I was missing. Now virtually every vacation is about where we are going on a bike trip.
