get your finger out as the forum needs help. We can`t just sit back and let Uwe, A.P., Black Lightning together with a couple more do all the work. The guys that do post here want a reply, why else would they go to the trouble, so make it happen. Then watch as the forum grows into what it could be. If the newcomers come here and see something vibrant and alive instead of what we have now I`m sure they would be much more likely to join in.
So post something but just don`t get mad if someone calls you a nut:D

Hey Slo, I think this forum is already more active than the other one. Most days I check in there are at least three or four new posts, while the other one could go days between new posts. It is still rather new, but seems to be doing nicely and currently has 214 members.
BTW, you're a nut...:)

Okay Slo, you asked for a response and here it is, you nut!
You caught me, I often just read and giggle with amusement at the banter in here...
And that's my 2 cents. Oh sorry make that 5 cents...

Slo makes a very good point. These forums need content and while there is a fair amount going on here, summer is coming. This will usually mean that, barring a miserable excuse for a summer such as we had out west last year, that people will be busy riding and time spent on line will be considerably less. That means that if more people can find something to say the forum will continue to grow and be a vital part of the motorcycle experience in Canada.
Information about local conditions, highway information, where the Revenue Collecting Motorized Patrol are hanging out, (OK, I unashamedly stole that analog for the RCMP from the Destination Highways books), is all valuable information that will be available as long as enough people are interested enough to keep the forum going.
Cheers.
It is still cold out there, and most are not out ridding and have nothing to say.
We are in a state of Blah! :(

The vast majority of forum users are lurkers. That is they prefer to join, visit, and read, but not post. I've never been able to explain this phenomenon, but it's true. I don't know if they're just shy or intimidated by the thought of posting a few words or genuinely don't have anything to say.
However, I do appreciate Slo's sentiment. Forums are known for their slow growth rates; patience and time will tell if this particular one will grow into something more substantial or remain an intimate place. There are massive ones out there, but they tend to either specialize in a motorcycle model, a riding genre, or even a geographical location. That's great, but I really prefer a forum like this with members from across the country who differ in their riding interests, vary in their levels of riding experience, and are diverse in their regional backgrounds.

Unfortunately, at this time, I'd only be able to post about the frustrations of first-bike shopping LOL.
Namely, how people post a Kijiji ad to sell their bike, but then act like they don't really wanna sell since they won't respond to emails/calls/both.
Time's a wastin'!

Oh boy do I know those frustrations.
When I was shopping for my Wing, it was call after call after call, and lies after lies after lies.
When I found this one it was on a Sunday I was first to call. he gave me his word I could have it and could come the fallowing Saturday to buy it.
To make a long story short his phone started ringing off the hook and he wanted me there asap!! I managed to get there by Wednesday and he said he had for guy's waiting behind me with more money lol.

My experience will Kijij is completely opposite to that of grendel and over the last couple of years I`ve tried to sell on-line without success. Apart from my own failure to sell through Kijiji I`ve watched as other bikes kept appearing over and over again with ever lowering prices. I just assumed that at some time the owners gave up trying.
