View Full Version : Picton, Prince Edward County
Going camping at the Sandbanks for the week, well with all the comforts of home  We are towing the bikes behind our 5th wheel camper.
Plan on riding all of Prince Edward County and beyond.
Going to take a trip to Kingston on county road #33, seems to be along the river and could make for a nice ride. Just have to think up a different road to get back to camp and make a loop of it.
So if anyone knows of some must ride roads or some good hiking trails, please share.

Great place. We camped there for 2 weeks four years ago.
Had the Triumph with us behind the RV. We hit every road in the County with the bike!

Hey Greg.
We did Prince Edward County last year. Rode 33 all the way to Kingston, Nice rd. If you have time i would recommend the 1000 Island Parkway. We rode it to Rockport, the took the boat tour to Bolt Castle. Just make sure you have your passport if you want to get onto the island. Any roads north of the 401 look to be a lot of fun. That's on the next year to do list.

A Mojo reader by the name of Ian sent us this info via email that might be of importance to your trip:
"When you are on your bike at the Glenora Ferry at Picton, you can no longer ride to the front of the line to get squeezed on at the back of the boat. If you are not in line, you will not get on the Ferry. It seems that too many cagers were whining….Again. They don’t have any signs up, so spread the word to the Motorcycling community."
Consider the word spread Ian.

Just spent a week near the sand banks in June. Take the rode up past Lake on the Mountain and follow it all the way around the east end of the county. This should bring you back around through wapous and cherry valley and come in the back way to the park. Nice ride, road is in fair condition. Little cheese factory before Wapous and a few wineries along the way. Wapous winery is very good don't miss it.

There is a Small sign there now, I was first inline and did not have any trouble :) Went over to wolf Island and they came and told us to wait near the front of the line for the Ferry, very nice of them :) They warned us about the Picton ferry as well lol.

We were out that way Thank you.
We got some cheese curds too from Black river. Great taste but I think St-Albert is better, maybe because the factory is only 20 minutes from me.

I agree St. Albert is better, I am 15 mins to the south of there. Its always a nice ride for an ice cream and some curd.
Have you ever riden on county road 18. It goes from hwy 31 (south bank st) al the way to the Quebec border. Nice road, fairly new asphalt, long sweeping corners and rolling hills. Great ride nice scenery and very relaxing.
I may have been on some of it! Give me a street name or an intersection so I can Google map it. T's and I are always looking for a new road to travel .
