1985 Yamaha 750 Virago with Hitachi carbs.

I'm not so much trying to sell this machine as I am to find a substitute for the carbs. I can't get it to run right and have narrowed the problem down to the carbs. It seems Yamaha only used these particular carbs for a short time and it is virtually impossible to find parts for them. What I need to find is either a source of parts or a substitute carb that will work on that particular motorcycle. When I get it running properly I will be selling it though. Or, at least putting it up for sale.

I wondered if I could get Mikunies to fit on it. Do you know if it's possible? How long did that particular engine get used?

I know where i can get a set of mikunis for an 1100 virago. Any way apparently K&L has parts for Hitachis.

I'm not all that familiar with K&L? I also found a blog site that suggests the problem may be in the wiring harness where it passes through the triple tree. When I can get the ice dam melted out from in front of the door to the sea can the bike is in I'm going to look into it.
