MotoGP Pool Selection List

It's time to pick your racers and teams for the 2012 season.

The first race is on 8 April, 2012 with practice sessions starting two days before then. That means everyone in the MotoGP Pool will have to submit their selections by 2 April (I'll need a few days to process all of the data). Once the selection deadline has passed and all the picks have been entered, I'll post everyone's selections so you can compare your choices to everyone else's. If you haven't made your choices by the deadline, you will forfeit your participation in this year's Pool.

THE SELECTION DEADLINE IS: 2 APRIL

Here's how it works:

1. Look through the list below. (If you have any questions, post them in this thread by clicking on "Reply".)
2. Select the appropriate number of riders/teams from each category.
3. Select a number for the "Tiebreaker" category.
4. Click on my name in the top left corner of this post and then click on PM.
5. A Private Message (PM) window will open. Type out (or copy and paste) your selections into the message window and click Send. DO NOT POST YOUR SELECTIONS HERE.

Pick a Tiebreaker Number In the unlikely event that two people make identical selections, the person who comes closest to guessing the total points that the 2012 World Champion will earn this season will be the winner. To help you out with this, Stoner won last year with 350 points. Lorenzo won the year before with 383, and Rossi before that with 309. There are 18 races this year, so a perfect season would be 450 points. Therefore you need to pick a number between 0 and 450.

I triple checked all the entries and can say with as much confidence as is possible that the numbers will be absolutely correct. Feel free to keep score on your own though.

My prediction for who will win this year's pool based on the submitted picks - providing every racer avoids injury (something I'm betting against) - is Slomoshun. However, anything can happen. Once thing is certain: it's going to be a great ride this year with the new 1000 prototypes. Hang on everyone! The first race is tomorrow.

It's been two years if you can believe it. And she did make her picks, but asked that I not reveal the name she's hiding behind (not that it'll be that hard to figure out with only a dozen in the pool).
