Anybody planing to go to Port Dover on the 13th

Just wondering if anyone is planing to go, I haven't been for a few years and if the weather is half decent I think that I will make the effort. I won't be in the area for the other 13th this year so if not this month I will have to put it off till September next year.

I like to hear the stories and see pics of those who went (go).
    It's just not for me.

I have never been and was considering going this time and had the time to attend following my retirement last December. However, I went out and got a part-time job and my new employer has decided that Friday the 13th would be a great day to hold the orientation. Oh well, maybe I will be off for the next one in July.

I live about an hours ride from Dover and it is a very good ride, lot's of twisties. However, I have been to the 13th (too) many times. I prefer to visit Dover during the week and there are always bikes in town, the 13th has done a lot for Dover.

Having said that, a friend asked me if I would ride there with him next week, and I am considering it. There seems to be fewer other-than-cruisers to view the last few times, but what the hell, I could add an other-than if I go. Will post next week if I say yes.

Will be going from the Bowmanville area as long as Mother Nature approves. Been there many times and suggest getting there early in the summer ones. May not be so bad in April but you can get in LONG lines just to get into town. Usually from the east you will start your line ups around Hagersville. Lots of vendors and in the summer if you want a t-shirt, consider them early because they will quite often sellout especially if you need a larger, (or should I say REAL MANS) size. Great time just to be around bikes and get some fresh air in a beautiful town on the water. Summer can draw over 100,000 people to a small town so if you don't like crowds or walking shoulder-to-shoulder and back-to-chest with lots of people it may not be for you. Again, April may not be so bad crowd wise. One last word to the wise, one thing you NEVER say in Dover is, "Hey you in the black shirt, wanna be my BFF?" Enjoy your trip and ride safe.

I just got back from Port Dover and I was impressed with that town and how they have, well, "branded" themselves, as the saying goes. The town was wide open (except LCBO and banks). Sidewalks were full of people, the stores, bars and restaurants were all open. There was a strong motorcycle presence, probably 100+ bikes along the streets and at the T-Ho parking lot. Families, old and young, a good cross-section of people enjoying a holiday. Port Dover is surely the envy of many a town in cash starved Ontario and it's ironic that motorcyclists have largely contributed to their well being.

Did I just learn something today? Is that what Tim Horton's is known as now, T-Ho? I think I like it.

I have other names for Timmie's. Perhaps it's the water in central BC.
The older I get, the faster I was.

So I decided to go kind of spur of the moment, nothing urgent to do at work and the weather was perfect.
